To all my fellow graduates out there. Most of you are going to work at optical shops. Most of you are going to be Optometrists. You now have the skill to diagnose lots of ocular problems be it retinal, binocular or refractive as well as prescribing contact lenses and glasses. Please use these abilities wisely, frequently and ethically.
Regard all your customers whether they are walk-ins or regulars as your patients. Don’t say that a technique is hard to do , too troublesome or RGPs are too hard to fit. And please don’t say that it is your boss who is the one to decide on what you should or shouldn’t do.
If you do not have the courage and perserverence to stand your ground, go be an optician and don’t touch contact lenses again as you are not fit to be an Optometrist.
This is what I have to say. Hopefully when i get out of NS, i would be able to see a better Optometric circle and be able to work with you guys again.
The same goes to all the current CCLPs out there.
